About the Artist

Meet Charlotte

I’m Charlotte Wellings, a Manchester-based collage artist and photographer working under the name Realm of Pixels.

I create hand-cut collage that combine found imagery, photography, and contemporary elements.

Alongside creating and exhibiting work, I design album covers, undertake bespoke commissions, run collage workshops and continue to work professionally as a photographer.

My Story

Creativity has always been part of my life. With a background in photography and journalism, I've spent much of my career exploring different ways to tell stories through imagery.

I've worked across photography, graphic design, textiles, sculpture and other creative disciplines, but discovering collage brought these interests together in a completely new way.

Working primarily with hand-cut imagery, I enjoy transforming existing photographs into unexpected worlds, exploring themes of identity, memory, nature and imagination.

Music Photography

Music Photography

Alongside my collage practice, I've established a career in professional music photography, photographing some of the biggest names in music, including Cher, KISS, Grace Jones, Lizzo, Iron Maiden, The Charlatans and many more.

In 2019, I held a solo photography exhibition at the British Music Experience in Liverpool, showcasing my work documenting live music.

I continue to work with Manchester's iconic Bridgewater Hall, photographing their classical concert series and a diverse range of other live performances. With a degree in Photography and Journalism, visual storytelling remains at the heart of my creative practice.

Album Artwork & Creative Commissions

From the surreal to the thought-provoking, I create original album artwork that brings an artist's music, lyrics and ideas to life through striking visual storytelling.

Recent collaborations include Manchester bands Agbeko and The Easy Rollers, creating bespoke artwork that captures the character and imagination behind their music.

Whether you're an emerging artist or an established act, I'm always interested in bringing new ideas to life.
